The GDFL Is Going Down Under

Gridiron Developmental Football League Selected as Exclusive Pro-Developmental D-League for the National Gridiron League, the Professional Football League of Australia

Memphis, TN, March 13, 2015–   GOOD DAY MATES…The GDFL is pleased to announce we are going Down Under!   The Gridiron Developmental Football League is pleased to announce we have been selected as the exclusive Pro-Developmental Football League of the National Gridiron League Professional Football League of Australia.

The National Gridiron League is a professional American Football league, and is the highest level of competition for American football in Australia.   Kicking off in 2016. The league will launch with nine teams, located in two separate states. The state of Queensland will host four teams, and the state of New South Wales will host five teams. In 2016, the league will feature an 18 week regular season, which is scheduled to run from August to December.

Each team will play 16 games with at least two bye weeks. Following the regular season, six teams will compete in the league’s three-week playoffs. The league will host all games at premier stadiums and will nationally televise a selected game in each week in each state.   Currently the league has signed standout athletes from  the University of Michigan, Idaho State, Texas State, University of West Georgia, just to name a few.  This partnership presents a huge opportunity for the GDFL on the international level.

This partnership will be a benefit of the GDFL Players Association Membership. The GDFL in collaboration with the NGL will be hosting combines and meetings nationwide to place the highest level of talent both on and off the field on an international platform.

NGL managing partner gave the all systems are go on a conference call this evening. Recruitment is ramped up to prepare for the 2016 season.

The GDFL together with the NGL will be looking to recruit and place over 400 serious athletes. The NGL offers an impressive salary and benefits package; it is a wonderful paid holiday abroad. Travel expenses, housing, a weekly salary, and full medical coverage will be provided to all athletes.
