Moore named the Head Coach of Memphis Blast

Memphis,Tenn-Antwone Moore has been named the Head Coach of the Memphis Blast Pro Developmental Football Team,President of team operations Charles Thompson announced on Monday. Moore is the fourth head coach in The Memphis Blast 18 year history. Bringing more than a decade of coaching experience to the Blast.

Moore began his coaching career as an assistant at Lanier Middle School in 2005-06 before being promoted to Defensive line coach for the start of the 2007-08 season at Hamilton High School. Moore has been to the TSSAA playoffs five times as a high school football coach in 2016 as the D-line coach at Cordova High School he had a helping hand as the Wolves reached their first ever state semifinal game only to lose to a team that he was also an assistant coach at in 2009,Whitehaven High School who eventually was crowned state champs in 2016. Moore was named Head Coach at Northside High School who hadn’t won a game in 5 seasons he led the program to TSSAA playoffs tournament berth in 2014, Northside closed it’s doors in 2015.

Coach Moore has also impacted the Memphis community by mentoring and coaching youth football giving back to the inner city, giving many young kids a positive role model to look up to in South Memphis an opportunity to be apart of a positive experience. He also, played minor league football for 5 Season under the tutelage of his predecessor Coach Charles Thompson who was the Head Coach of The Tennessee Ruff Ryders and Memphis Thunder.

In 2013 Moore accepted a Defensive Coordinator position for the start-up Memphis Dolphins(defunct) and helped them win a GDFL Southwest Division in 2013.In addition to coaching, Moore is also an outstanding educator in the Shelby County School system, he is also one of  the top Disc Jockeys in the City of Memphis.

2007-2008:Hamilton High School (D-line Assistant Coach)

2008-2009:Whitehaven High School (Linebackers Assistant Coach)  2nd  round TSSAA Playoffs

2009-2014:Westwood High School (D-line Assistant Coach) 3rd round TSSAA Playoffs

2014-2015: Head football coach for Northside High  (Northside Closed 2015) TSSAA Playoffs

2015-2016: D-Line coach @ Cordova high  Semifinals TSSAA Playoffs

2017-Present:Defensive Coordinator  at Westwood high 2nd round TSSAA Playoffs

Thompson commented, “Moore contribution to our program cannot be measured in statistics,he is all about what he could do to help the team from day one. Coach Moore has a staff ready to take on the new challenge as Head Coach for the Memphis Blast. This will be fun and challenging for the upcoming season.

Moore takes over a Memphis Blast team that went 3-5 and fell short of the playoffs for first time in 5 years a team that was predicted to be a National Championship contender after reaching the Impact Conference Championship in 2016.
