Memphis Blast Takes Home Opener Loss

Memphis, TENN – The Memphis Blast home opener was set to be a huge success. In a Battle of I-40, this rivalry was set to deliver hard hitting action from the opening kick off.

The Memphis Blast had won the toss and elected to defer to the second half. In a battle of the a few 3 and outs by both teams, the Nashville Storm finally got the ball and drove down the field leading into a touchdown pass. With a point-after-attempt the end of the first quarter saw the Storm over the Blast 7-0.

Each team came in and out in the second quarter until about mid way through the Nashville Storm kicked a 32 yard field goal and taking both teams in the locker room 10-0 Storm over the Blast.

As the 3rd quarter started, so did the lighting. A rain delay saw both teams back in the locker room for a 15 minute delay. Through out the 3rd quarter both teams battled in and off the field.

Entering the 4th quarter, the tension was building on the Memphis Blast sidelines as the players were eager to score and remain in the game. However that wasn’t the case as the Nashville Storm rallied late in the game to score another touchdown and go on to win the game 17-0.
