MEMPHIS,TENN. – Featuring six home contests and a new eight-game GDFL East schedule, the Memphis Blast football Pro Football Team released its 2017 slate on Sunday.

“Having six home games is big for us and I’m all for that,” said Blast Defensive coach Lawrence Miller. “Anytime you’re at home it excites you. I love having all the fans come out and support The Hometown Team, The Memphis Blast.”

The Blast will kick-off the 2017 campaign on Saturday, April. 29th when they host Western Kentucky Thoroughbreds in the GDFL Preseason Kick-off Classic. They will also play a non-division  home preseason contest against Missouri Cyclones on May.6th in the Annual Memphis May Bar-b-que Bowl!!!

Non-conference road affairs include a trip to the 2016 National Champions Oklahoma Thunder and will travel to Mississippi to face Road Warriors on June. 10th, on July.8th the Blast will host The 2015 National Champions Nashville Storm.

The Memphis Blast will play its first divisional game on May.20 when it will host the Tennessee Lightning Bolts for their first ever match-up. The Blast will also take on divisional opponent Tri-City Outlaws and will face Arkansas Nightmare June 17th at Charles Greenhill Stadium.

In 2017, Blast bring back seven starters on offense and eight on defense. The Blast will look to return their quarterbacks and running backs, and four of their top five wide receivers. Defensively, they bring back three of their two starting defensive linemen and four of their five defensive backs.
